BOOKINGS FOR THIS CONFERENCE HAVE NOW CLOSED
Join us for the first Community Archives Development Group conference to share your thoughts, experience and meet other people involved in preserving our shared memories and heritage from the grassroots up. It is estimated that there are up to 5,000 community archives in the UK at the present time, and they are growing in number and influence.
Topics to be discussed include:
- Recent research into the social value of community archives
- The opportunities offered by the Heritage Lottery Fund to community archive groups
- www.communityarchives.org.uk website: the national directory of community archives in the UK.
There will be presentations by both well established and newly formed community archives, and the opportunity to influence national policy.
Co-hosted with University College London, School of Library, Archives and Information Studies
