Putting burial records online

As a Parish we have agreed to putting Burial Records online. 

Stage 1 is to transcribe onto Excel spreadsheet. A copy of records is being passed onto Swindon Central Library to forward to Chippenham. 

Completed so far: Upper Stratton complete to date, Lower Stratton books 1 & 2 of 7. Record includes GRO reference where available on FreeBMD. 

There is a need in the current world for all Parish/Town/Borough councils to do the same, there are plenty of volunteers prepared to do the transcriptions and hosting online records is fairly cheap. There is always the opportunity to make a small charge for non residents to access the online records.
