Shrublands Community Archive

This is a community archiving and reminiscence project directed at the heritage and history of the Shrublands Community in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.

The Shrublands Community is in the centre of the Magdalen Estate, Gorleston, within the borough of Great Yarmouth and forms a very important integral area of Gorleston and the borough itself. This area is within one of the country’s most deprived wards with community esteem, high unemployment and other associated issues.  It is anticipated that this project will assist with a more informed and enhanced community.

After  over 15 years the original website has now be decommissioned and a new website is being developed using the thousands of images , documents and material gathered through the project.
