Greenside Millennium Green Trust

Greenside is a small village on the rural fringe of Gateshead in the North East of England and was chosen as a site for a Millennium Green.

Thanks to funding from The National Lottery, The Countryside Commission and local businesses, work is now complete, turning what was the old colliery site and railway line into a new community resource.

There are many ongoing projects, including the collection of photographs and an ongoing reminiscence writing project.
