Geevor Tin Mine
Geevor continues to add to its considerable archive of Oral History recordings undertaken in the community since 2002 supported by the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
Recordings have been themed for ease of access and include full transcriptions. Themes cover tin mining but also extend to education, religion, childhood, domestic life and change.
Geevor holds an extensive archive, which includes hundreds of maps and plans of the underground workings as well as the textual information held in ledgers etc. The material dates back to the 1900’s and is a considerable asset to family history groups and to local, national and international mining enthusiasts. Additionally, Geevor holds a unique collection of local history photographs.
