The Blackdown Archives website is managed by the Hemyock History and Archives Association in Hemyock, Devon.  We have created a database and online web site at blackdownarchives.org.uk to store our archives which cover the entire Blackdown Hills area including Hemyock, Dunkeswell, Churchinford, Culmstock, Clayhidon, Uffculme, Kentisbeare, Dulford, Broadhembury plus Honiton and Cullompton.

We have a large amount of documents, books, pamphlets, historical images of our history here in the Blackdown Hills. Hemyock has a mediaeval Castle, two Churches, Community Centre, Blackdown Healthy Living Centre, Village Hall, Post Office, Spar Shop, Pub called the Catherine Wheel and we used to have a Milk Factory and Railway Station.

We are currently discussing how we expand our archives and looking for new people from our community to become involved in the project for future generations.
