The National Archives Manage Your Collections (MYC) tool allows archives to upload their catalogue descriptions to Discovery, offering a free and low-maintenance way of getting collections information online; guidance and support is available for community heritage groups who are interested in finding out more.
There are also case studies featuring archives who are using MYC to publish their collections information. The case studies from Sherborne Museum, the Morrab Library and Clevedon Pier and Heritage Trust all demonstrate that it is possible to share your collections online and reach new audiences without the need for a costly cataloguing system. They have all utilised volunteers to create different ways of working to open their collections up to new audiences. You can read the case studies here.
