Apples and Snakes, the leading organisation for performance poetry and spoken word is seeking two archiving and cataloguing volunteers to assist in an exciting new initiative to create a living archive of spoken word & performance poetry in the UK.
This project is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Roles will include digitising archival materials – flyers, press-cuttings, and analogue audio- and video–recordings. Editing digital materials and uploading and cataloguing them on a web based programme. An interest in spoken word would be useful.
Each volunteer will be required to attend an induction day on the 5th February and a training day on the 12th February 2016. The placement would then run for one day a week (Wednesday, Thursday or Friday) for twelve weeks.
Volunteers will be based at the Apples and Snakes office at The Albany in Deptford. Travel costs of up to £12.50 per day will be paid by the organisation.
To apply please send contact details and a brief statement explaining why you are interested in this opportunity to russell@applesandsnakes.org by 3rd February 2016.
