The Royal Historical Society, in partnership with the Public History Seminar at the Institute of Historical Research is awarding a new prize in public history. This prize is intended to promote the field of public history by recognising work that enhances public understanding of the place of the past in today’s social, political and cultural life. Anybody can nominate a project for the prize and there are five categories: broadcasting, film, museums and exhibitions, publications and web based projects. Nominations are open until 30 September 2015.
The first biennial Public History Prizes will be awarded at the Colin Matthew lecture on Wednesday 28th October. The following day, 29th October, there will be a Public History workshop.
