Wickham Market Area Archive Centre
Wickham Market Area Archives Centre (WMAAC) is located in the village of Wickham Market and is located in the grounds of the local Resource Centre.
It was formed in 1988 by two villagers, Gwen Dyke and Mary Morris. It provides a small depositary for archives relevant to all the surrounding villages, and a research room. Visitors to this research room have included researchers from as far as New Zealand and Australia. It has a vast collection of photographs, slides, tapes and videos, as well documents.
As a self funding organisation, its main source of income is through various events, a small membership fee, and the sale of publications and copies of photos etc. These are donated to the centre for use by the public for research. It is supported, staffed and managed by a group of volunteers and is open two half days a week.
There is no admission fee.
